Istanbul: Syrian National Council (SNC) wants to anchor solution to the Kurdish question in the Syrian constitution

KURDWATCH, November 9, 2011—The Syrian National Council wants to anchor Kurdish ethnic rights in the constitution. A draft of the body´s political program further states that the Kurdish question in Syria must be solved democratically and justly, as well as within the framework of the unity of the Syrian state. This would entail that the Kurds receive the same civic rights and duties as all other citizens. The Syrian National Council is an oppositional coalition that was founded in Istanbul on October 2, 2011.
