DAMASCUS, (SANA)- The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces announced that an armed terrorist group carried out a vicious assassination operation which claimed the lives of six pilots, one technical officer and three technical sub-officers of a military airbase, as they were passing Palmyra-Homs axis on Thursday afternoon.
In a statement issued on Friday, the General Command considered this direct targeting of the officers who were qualitatively trained in piloting modern military aircrafts and prepared to carry out the "sacred duty of liberating the land and restoring the usurped rights" as a "dangerous terrorist escalation."
It added that this escalation exposes the real face of the plot which targets the structure of the Syrian Armed Forces with all its types and confirms foreign parties' involvement in supporting these terrorist operations with the aim of undermining the qualitative combat capabilities of the Armed Forces.
The statement said the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces considers that the beneficiaries of this terrorist act are the enemies of the Homeland and the Nation, foremost being Israel.

PROVINCES, SANA_ Three members of a military engineering unit and law-enforcement members were martyred and several others injured in explosive device blast in Hama and in an attack on a law-enforcement feeding car in Daraa.
A source in Hama Police Command told SANA correspondent that two members of a military engineering unit martyred while dismantling an explosive device planted by armed terrorist groups in the Municipal Stadium neighborhood.
The source added that three other explosive devices exploded to the south of the Municipal Stadium, al-Qusour neighborhood and al-Alamein Street, with no injuries reported.
The source said a number of law enforcement members were injured by the gunfire of an armed terrorist group in al-Arba'ein neighborhood in the city of Hama.
