MOSCOW, SANA_ Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department of Russia's Foreign Ministry Sergey Vershinin said that Syria is a friendly country and the Russian people don't accept the violence and terrorist acts witnessed by Syria at the hands of the gunmen.
During his meeting with a delegation of the Syrian community who came to thank Russia for its supportive stances, Vershinin stressed that his country would always support Syria and would not allow anyone to interfere in its affairs.
He praised the people and the leadership of Syria, pointing to the important role of young men and the Syrian community in the current stage.

MOSCOW, SANA_ Former Russian Ambassador to Syria Alexander Zotov said Russia opposes any outside military intervention in Syria as it has been exerting efforts to convince all parties of the dialogue to build the future of Syria.
The Ambassador, in an interview with the Russia Today Channel on Friday, referred to presence of external parties who do not want the calm and dialogue in Syria and support the Syrian opposition.
Zotov made it clear that the Arab initiative form was put as a kind of pressure on the Syrian leadership as it includes a group of ultimatums without any indication to those who instigate the terrorist criminal acts all over Syria.
He pointed out that the manifestations of violence in Syria are caused by the incitement of subversive groups within Syria backed by foreign sides, referring to growing doubts about the validity of the photos broadcast by Arab and Western channels regarding the events in Syria.

Russia called for an international conference to discuss ways to reach a Middle East free of nuclear weapons.
Russia reiterated in comments made by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov network Russia 24 television need to make more efforts to hold the conference next year to free the Middle East of weapons of mass destruction, pointing to the big questions about weapons of mass destruction possessed by Israel.

Switzerland added the names of 18 people new to the list of Syrians subject to restrictions in travel, bringing the number to 74, including military and senior officials in the Ministry of Interior, according to a statement released Friday.
According to the agency, "AFP," she said Switzerland is also a name on the list of legal persons subject to sanctions, the Commercial Bank of Syria, and now this list includes 19 names.
And Switzerland had taken action against Damascus in the month of September last by banning any new investment in Syria's oil sector, as well as shipment of metal parts and new banknotes of the Central Bank of Syria.
Switzerland also decided to impose an embargo on military equipment to Syria, and prevented the shipment of goods that can be used for the purposes of repression at home.
