HASAKA, (SANA)-The judicial sub-committee in charge of supervising the local council elections in the northeastern governorate of Hasaka decided to annul the results which were announced on Thursday evening of the provincial councils in the governorate and cities of Hasaka and Qamishli because of certain mistakes in the process of vote counting, caused by a failure in the computer system.

Judge Ammar al-Aani, head of the committee, told SANA correspondent that mistakes were detected in the computerized vote counting when compared to manual counting of ballots conducted for the councils of cities, towns and municipalities.

He said that the manual vote counting will be adopted, while the ballots for the elections of the councils of the governorate and the cities of Hasaka and Qamishli will be recounted manually.
