Speaking at his annual live Q&A, Putin said that while legal protests and dissent were necessary, it was "wrong" for people to "allow themselves to be sucked into schemes to destablize society."
Russia saw the largest anti-government rallies for some two decades on Saturday, as tens of thousands of people took to the streets to protest suspected poll violations at the December 4 parliamentay polls.
Putin also hit out at the color revolutions that swept former Soviet republics in the 2000s, hinting at foreign involvement in the 2004-2005 unrest in Ukraine that led to the toppling of the country's pro-Russia authorities and the election of the Western-leaning Viktor Yushchenko as president.
'This was a plan to destabilizse society. And I don't think it came about of its own," he said.
"Some of our opposition figures were in Ukraine," Putin added. "They worked as advisors to then President Yushchenko...and brought their experience back to Russia."
Putin alleged last week that the protests that erupted after the December 4 parlimentray polls had been encouraged by the United States, in particular by comments by Secreatray of State Hillary Clinton.

MOSCOW, (SANA) – Iran's Ambassador to Moscow Muhammad Reza Sajjadi stressed that the Western countries and Israel reject the return of stability and prosperity to Syria and to the Arab countries.
"Despite the fact that the Western countries realize Syria's important role in the region and the Islamic world, they have tried to undermine this role and they exerted political, economic, cultural and military pressures on Syria to punish it for its rejection of complying with the dictations of colonial countries, Ambassador Sajjadi said in a statement to SANA correspondent.
He added that Syria's people and leadership stance against the schemes of the US, Israel and the NATO countries in the region, made the Western countries work hard to create problems in Syria, and to exaggerate what is taking place on ground at a time when these countries ignore the protests and problems in other countries whose governments are subjected to the US and Western powers.
Sajjadi reiterated Iran's support to Syria in its rejection of the pressures exerted by Western and other countries.

BEIRUT, (SANA) – Informed sources told al-Nour radio channel that a member of the Future bloc in Akkar helped French and British intelligence officers through taking them to sites that overview Syrian military locations along the northern Lebanese borders.
Sources said that two cars, belonging to the Future Bloc MPs with 4 passengers claiming that they were journalists, came to Wadi Khaled district. The passengers took photos of the military sites near the borders with Syria.
They added that the cars toured many places along the borders, pointing out that they were French and British intelligence officers whose mission was to get information about the Syrian-Lebanese borders.

PARIS, (SANA)- French journalist Jacques Borde criticized his country's foreign policy, blaming it for the deterioration in the relations between Syria and France.
In an interview with GeoStrategy website, Borde said the logistic support offered by Paris to the gunmen in Syria by means of secret supply of military equipment constitutes an aggression on a state that is a member of the United Nation.
He added that based on the strict French legislations regarding export of military equipment, the officials and parties sponsoring these acts will be pursued if a new political majority would come to power after the French presidential elections of 2012.
The French historian denounced the demeanor of his country which did not only provide military equipment to the gunmen, but also monitored the Syrian Army's sites via satellite and transferred the information to the gunmen.
Borde said the problem is that the French President Nicolas Sarkozy is putting the cart before the horse, indicating to a "strange contradiction" in the French attitude.
He said that France is standing alone on the front line, asking sarcastically "Why do the Americans have to dirty their hands when a fool is there to do the dirty acts on their behalf."

OTTAWA, (SANA) - The U.S. journalist Tony Cartalucci criticized the American ABC News' attempt to distort President Bashar al-Assad's interview with Barbara Walters through deliberate omission in sensitive parts to give a completely different impression than what President al-Assad intended to give out.
In an article published by the global research website Cartalucci said "Events taking place in Syria exposed the duplicity, discourtesy, and intellectual depravity displayed by Barbra Walters who "saw pictures," read a fraudulent UN report written by authors with ties to US corporate-financier interests, and listened to an Obama speech and therefore is an expert on the premeditated, US-facilitated chaos sweeping across parts of Syria."
He added that "And even as she sits in Syria's calm capital of Damascus, invited in by al-Assad who has been accused of barring foreign reporters, she still insists that Syria is in utter chaos, irrationally closing itself off from the world, and with a population completely turned against the Syrian government."
Cartalucci said that broadcasting the full interview later on helped correcting the distortion, describing Walters' behavior as "disgraceful".
He pointed out to a number of facts to dispel the false premises that Walters started from in its job, particularly the UN human rights report on Syria which consisted of no evidence and was mainly based on interviews of alleged witnesses produced by Syria's opposition in Geneva.
Cartalucci added "The report itself was compiled in part by Karen AbuZayd, a Director of the US Washington-based corporate think-tank, Middle East Policy Council, that includes Exxon men, CIA agents, US military and government representatives, and even the president of the US-Qatar Business Council, which includes amongst its membership, al-Jazeera, Chevron, Exxon, munitions manufacturer Raytheon (who supplied the opening salvos during NATO's operations against Libya).
"Violence amongst protests was confirmed and documented by even the mainstream press as early as April 2011, where protesters committed arson on public buildings including administrative centers and police stations. Reports of snipers attacking protesters and troops simultaneously were also reported. As early as June, hundreds of Syrian troops had already been reported dead," said Cartalucci.
He stressed that what is taking place in Syria is funded by the NATO Alliance which consists of "a very real terrorist threat".
Cartalucci referred to what has been reported by international media confirming the presence of a Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (listed by the US State Department as a terrorist organization) on the Turkey-Syrian border preparing militants to fight the Syrian government with the assistance of Turkey's government.
He said that the statements made by a number of the U.S. officials stress that what is happening in Syria came in line with a decision taken by the US since 1991 which aimed at cleaning up governments in the Middle East that support Russia, namely Syria, Iran and Iraq before the rising of another super power to challenge the Western domination.

He also underscored statements of Michael Posner, the assistant US Secretary of State for Human Rights and Labor, on Washington organizing training sessions for 5,000 activists including activists from Tunisia, Egypt, Syria and from Lebanon.

A former official from within the ranks of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is reporting that US and NATO forces have landed outside of Syria and are training militants to overthrow the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.
Whistleblower Sibel Edmonds, formerly a translator with the FBI, wrote over the weekend that American soldiers are among the NATO troops that have mysteriously and suddenly landed on the Jordanian and Syrian border. According to her, several sources internationally have confirmed the news, although the US media has been instructed to temporarily censor itself from reporting the news.
Additionally, Edmonds says that American and NATO forces are training Turkish troops as well, to possibly launch a strike from the north of Syria.
Edmonds writes that an Iraqi journalist based out of London has confirmed that US forces that vacated the Ain al-Assad Air Base in Iraq last week did in fact leave the country as part of President Obama's drawdown of troops, but rather than return home, the soldiers were transferred into Jordan during the late hours of Thursday evening. Another source, writes Edmonds, informs her that "soldiers who speak languages other than Arabic" have been moving through Jordan mere miles from the country's border with Syria. Troops believed to be NATO/American-affiliated have been spotted between the King Hussein Air Base in al-Mafraq and the Jordanian village of Albaej and its vicinity.
Nizar Nayouf, a correspondent for Edmond's Boiling Frog Post whistleblower site, says an employee of the London-based offices of Royal Jordanian Airlines has further confirmed that at least one US aircraft transporting military personnel has brought American troops into Jordan in recent days. Nayouf, the former editor-in-chief of Sawt al-Democratiyya (Democracy's Vote), had previously been sentenced to a decade behind bars for critiquing the Syrian government. He later won several human rights awards and the 2000 UNISCO prize for press freedom.
Since the uprising of rebel forces opposing al-Assad's regime over Syria nearly a year ago, American officials have been critical of the country's government but insist that they have otherwise distanced themselves from becoming involved in the protests. Following the deaths of dozens of protesters in the spring of 2011, the United States imposed strict sanctions against the official government of Syria.
Navi Pillay, the United Nations' high commissioner for human rights, revealed this week that the uprising in Syria has caused over 5,000 deaths since it began in early 2011. In the case of the crackdown against former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's regime, NATO involvement began only one month into the uprising. Nine months later, the total death toll of the Libyan Civil War is estimated to be close to 30,000.
In her report, Edmonds says that NATO troops have been training soldiers just outside of Syria since as early as May, and that US media is prohibited from reporting on it until today. The Turkish paper Milliyet also reports that defected Syrian colonel Riyad al-Asaad is preparing troops to take over the Syrian government as well.

アサド大統領による独裁が続くシリアで、広報手段の中核ともいえる国営テレビ局に15日、FNNの取材班が入った。
佐々木 亮記者の報告です。
首都ダマスカスにあるシリア国営放送。
今回、シリア政府が管轄する、このシリア国営放送の取材が特別に許可された。
スタジオには、最新の機材が並んでいる。
このスタジオから伝えられるニュースは、多数の死者が出ている現在のシリアの状況について、「シリア軍と武装したテロリストの戦いによるもの」と報じていて、国際社会が非難している「反体制派への弾圧」という構図とは大きく異なっている。
国営テレビのキャスターは「(国営メディアが正しい?)それはそうよ。(軍が弾圧なんて)海外メディアは大うそつき」と語った。
一方で、市内では、海外の衛星テレビやインターネットなどを見ることも可能だが、市民から政権に対する批判の声は聞かれず、今は政権側の主張を受け入れている様子。
