DAMASCUS, (SANA)- President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday issued Decree No. 421 on the appointment of Yasser Salman al-Shoufi as Governor of Idlib and Hussein Makhlouf Makhlouf as Governor of Damascus Countryside.
Al-Shoufi replaced former governor Khalid al-Ahmad and Makhlouf succeeded former governor Zahid Haj Moussa.
Al-Shoufi was born in Sweida in 1953. He got B.A from the Faculty of Law.
He was appointed as the Chairman of the Police Scientific Institute in Damascus and the Chief of Police in Hasaka and later Chief of Police in Aleppo.
Engineer Makhlouf was born in Lattakia in 1964. Graduated from the Civil Engineering Faculty. He was appointed as the Head of Damascus Branch of al-Sahel Construction and Building Company and the General-Manager of the Public Association of Water Resources.
