TEHRAN, (SANA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparsat on Tuesday expressed surprise over the unprecedented stances of the Arab League and some Arab countries regarding Syria which reveals the presence of pressure from outside sources.
During a weekly press conference, Mehmanparsat said that the United States and other western countries are preventing dialogue and the reforms that the Syrian people aspire to, stressing that all countries must help to carry out reforms and initiaite dialogue.
He said that the Arab League is using unjustified double standards regarding Arab causes, as it often ignored issues in other Arab countries, noting that these double standards will be inexplicable to public opinion, drawing parallels between them and the west's double standards in supporting Israel while accusing other countries of terrorism.
Mehmanparsat affirmed the need for preventing foreign interference in regional issues, saying that all countries who desire security and stability in the region must support dialogue and reforms in Syria and the region's other countries.
