قال مصدر مسؤول في الحزب السوري القومي الاجتماعي، إن "الحزب يدرس الآن إمكانية تعدد رئاسات الحزب بحيث يكون له رئيس في لبنان وآخر في سورية أو يكون هناك مجلس رئاسات حتى الآن لا تزال هذه الموضوعات قيد الدرس كون رئيس الحزب (أسعد حردان ) حاليا يقيم في لبنان ويدير شئون الحزب عبر هيكلته الحالية من هناك".
وأضاف:" قانون الأحزاب الصادر حديثا في سورية لا يسمح بوجود فروع في الخارج للأحزاب التي ترخص في داخل البلاد علما أننا كحزب نشارك في الجبهة الوطنية التقدمية منذ سنوات والتي يقودها حزب البعث الحاكم".
