. . . I cannot but express strong dissatisfaction about leaking information about your meeting with President Bashar al-Assad on September 10th, 2011 in such sensitive time which damaged the confidence. . .

"What provoked our extreme concern is your statements on Wednesday September, 14, 2011 about sending committees to Syria which fully contradict your decision to abandon your report on your visit to Syria and your meeting with President al-Assad which provided for forming a high-level AL Secretariat General delegation to visit the Syrian governorates and know more about the reality of what is taking place with official guarantees for free transportation and providing protection for the delegation members," . . .

the news leaks attributed to you regarding a national dialogue conference and your proposal to be held out of Syria greatly contradicts your report to the AL Council presented on September 13th , 2011 which stressed on launching a national dialogue in Syria with the participation of the AL according to a certain mechanism. . .

what was attributed to you, after your meeting, of implicit suggestions encouraging and inciting external interference in Syrian affairs, especially in terms of considering what is happening in Syria is no longer an internal affair, but an external one, So we are surprised. . .

Wissam Tarif from the human rights organisation Avaaz said he had been told that Turkish officials had traded Harmoush for nine members of the PKK Kurdish militant group, which Turkey has proscribed as a terrorist organisation.

"We have heard from the Kurds that there has been a deal done," he said. "The Turks have been extremely interested in finding ways to clearly define the Kurdish role inside the [Syrian opposition] transitional council."

A spokesman for the Turkish government said that he had no information about Harmoush. When asked on Thursday in Cairo about the missing officer, Turkey's prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, did not respond.
